I hope this question is clear and not confusing....I was wondering if the focus on special interests is the same for people both with classical AS and classical HFA. Or do the special interests and how a person approaches them manifest differently depending on the AS or HFA? I guess I am wondering if one group tends to focus more intensely than the other that that group also tends to know more about the subject they are interested in. Or if they have several special interests and know lots of the basics but not all of the deepest details. Or are both AS and HFA generally the same when it comes to special interests?? Just curious.

I have HFA and my special interests are pretty intense. I have few interests. I have no problems with my narrow range of interests and the intensity of them, and I can post about The Kinks as often as I wish.

I think it's probably an individual difference. I have AS. I have a handfull of deep interests, and I try to have at least a basic understanding of my close friends' interests (except for sports and politics, I gave up on those years ago).
