Are you hyposensitive to anything? I am hyposensitive to more sensations than hypersensitive. One thing that I am hyposensitive to that I have never met anyone else with is hair pulling. Most people just look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them that I like my hair being pulled. I'm starting to put myself down because of this. I used to pretend it bothered me because it seemed to bother everyone around me, so I pretended it did as I thought it was supposed to. Now, I am honest about it.

Is anyone else hyposensitive to anything?

Will agree with the other poster on the bedroom.
In any case pain is a very pure and specific sensation. It can focus your mind in ways nothing else can. Does this have anything to do with why you do it. We all find different behavoirs to be reinforcing. Sonetimes no one else understands why because what reinforces your behavoir may not have the same effect on thiers
