I love water (and have ever since I can remember). Not hot water, but just the cool, smooth feeling of water. We have horses and I always love to stick my arm in the water tank. I like swimming and standing in the rain too (not with thunder/lightning, just rain).

Anyway, does anyone else like water? What do you like about water? Is it a common Aspie thing?

I like water. I like being immersed in it.

It's a common human thing, and not limited to Aspies.

Yes When i was a lot younger I used to run under the sprinkler when it was a horrible stinking hot day (in my bathers of course) that was in the days before water restrictions.

Always have, while most people are like "Ahh, it's going to rain all weekend, what crap!"
I'm like wooo hoo! Time to go for a bicycle ride, haha.

I'm just fascinated with water in general, from it being a basic essential to life, to just relaxing and watching the rain and lightning, to swimming, to fishing, to watching biological documentaries on sea life.

I'm a big fan of water, and of drinking it.

I love water too! Love being in it I love watching it and hearing it.. I love the way it feels. It has always calmed and soothed me since I was a child

When I was little I loved to play in or beside it a. As a child when I got over stimulated or hyper mom would put me in the bath and I would stay ther for hours.

Also yes the love of water is extremely common with autism. In fact it is so common that the number one cause of death for those with autism particularly those who wander is drowning

I prefer swimming to a lot of other forms of exercise, though I don't really enjoy how cold most pools are, and I hate getting out at the end and freezing; the locker rooms are always 10+ degrees colder than the pool room and it's awful. I'm also not a fan of rain because I hate wet clothes, though it does smell good. I dunno, I don't hate water, but I don't love it either.

I hate the feel of cold raindrops hitting me. That way lies meltdowns and overload.

I love swimming. I don't mind cool water, but excessively cold is not comfortable.

Sometimes I crave the sensation of running water, which is similar to other sensory "cravings" that lead to certain stims. So, I just run water over my hands or take a bath or whatever and it's fine.

I love to swim. When I watched the olympics last year and saw the pool shots before anyone was in it, I was practically drooling.
I also love the sound of waves.
But then, I get the same feeling from breezes.

Yeah I like water, unlike those weird hydrophobic NTs.

I love the water, it's relaxing, all my worries wash away when I'm near or in water.

Being underwater is the most relaxing thing for me. I am like peter pan and the water is like neverland. It's the closes thing to flying. Too bad I can't hold my breath for very long and have to surface every now and then.

i do not like water because water is always wet.

i once saw a documentary about people trekking across a dessert, and they were saddled down by the weight of the water they had to carry.

i thought "if only someone could invent dehydrated water, then their load would be very much lightened".

all they would have to do is add water to the dehydrated water crystals and presto! they would have proper water to drink.

i often think that if they harvested all the sponges in the oceans to the point of extinction, then there would be more water in the oceans which would lead to sea level rises. but considering global warming, i now am of the opinion that we should make thousands of sponge factories that pump out sponges by the billions, and throw them into the ocean to soak up the encroachment of the sea level rises that are expected.
