It was only months ago that a paper on a study that I helped out with on the frequency of persistent/continuous toe walking in the autism population got approved for publication in a medical journal (Journal of Child Neurology) :). A few months ago, an abstract of the toewalking study got published on medical websites (i.e. MDLinx, Pubmed) :).

Here are the links to those sites (if you are interested in reading them and/or interested in purchasing the entire study):

1. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21285033.
2. http://www.mdlinx.com/nursing/news-article.cfm/3472848.

You can also just type "Persistent Toewalking in Autism" into the Google search engine and see what other medical sites have it.

It was just days ago that I received an e-mail which stated that the paper on the toe walking study would be featured in the May 2011 edition of the Journal of Child Neurology :D. I already received a copy of that edition and my study is located in pp.619-621 of it. The link to the Journal of Child Neurology website with an abstract of the toe walking study is as follows: http://jcn.sagepub.com/content/early/20 ... 4.abstract.

This is my first study that has been published in a medical journal/magazine. I hope to get more studies published in medical journals/magazines in the future.

This is what bugs me about psychology. With computers, everything you ever wanted to know is on the web, free for the taking (and if it isn't, it doesn't matter). With psychology, human knowledge is locked behind paywalls.

There's a lot of red tape involved.

By the way, congratulations! :D

@OP: Hmm ... the Journal of Child Neurology seems to be a peer-review journal ... but who are the peers? What are their credentials? For that matter, what are YOURS?

Hmmm a little nosy aren't you.

Why not use google and work it out for yourself
http://jcn.sagepub.com/

I would't take the low ranking or impact factor too seriously as it's being clustered with prestigious journals in the separate meta fields of paediatrics and clinical neurology. I suspect if you classify this journal to it's specific field of research code (RFCD) then it may be the top journal in paediatric nuerology. In which case the editors of the journal and article reviewers (referees) are likely peers in their specific field.
