What is the weirdest interest/ obsession you have had?

Mine was free range rabbit farming and cross breading to create the perfect balance of maturity/ taste/ size. This is weird because i am a vegetarian!

I like to learn about rare diseases and disorders. Prion diseases are my favorite.

Looking through my bookshelves (a record of my interests as they shift over time):

Parasitology
Spinoza's philosophy
Dean Koontz' novels
The Gulag system
The Holocaust
H.L Mencken
Survivalist literature
Go strategy
Failed utopian community attempts
Lemony Snicket
The Manhattan Project

I have no idea which are weird. The juxtaposition is what seems weird to me.

Staircases and stairwells
or maybe . . .
Room/corridor layouts for large scale buildings (schools, hospitals, malls, airports, etc). I especially like the background areas (like maintenance corridors, utility rooms, etc).

Cemeteries, Pompeii, abandoned buildings, empty playgrounds, decaying machinery, transparent animals, and old black and white photographs with unknown origins are a few of my weird interests.

FD&C Blue No. 1 Dye in powder form. I also have the aluminum lake version in powder form too. I'm fascinated by this blue powder that stains everything it touches. Also, Weatherstar technology, specifically the 4000. When I was younger, it was various brands and kinds of coffee, tea, and laundry detergent. Also, plastic dryer ducting, grid TV guides, newspaper weather maps, radiator vents, plungers, wooden door stops, push brooms, washer discharge hose, industrial steam irons, and candles. I'd say I have all of you beat!. :)

I haven't really had any "weird" interests, but I've had some that would be considered "depressing."
I tend to go through phases more than long-term special interests now that I'm older, which I find to be more efficient because it theoretically provides for more expansion as far as knowledge goes. I've been interested in the Holocaust (which was slightly long-term; I'm still very interested), as well as airplane crashes (went through a three- or four-day phase), and school shootings, to name a few.

When I was in 12th Grade Pokemon, but I did find a teacher! and an 11th grade that were also into it. It was twisted man, I programmed my graphing calculator with a "name that pokemon!" program and drew pokemon all over the chalkboards in the school. It for a while pushed aside my bird interest. This was soon after the first game came out and Pokemon was super popular, but it wasn't among 12th graders.

Later on, mental disorders pushed aside birds, but now birds are starting to come back.
