I went to see a consultant psychologist and a nurse consultant today. I went in, the nurse talked about why I was there what I could gain etc, then they introduced the psychologist. I had tried to say hello to the psychologist when I entered the room but he seemed unresponsive, then I had to say hello about 5 minutes in. It seems rude to me to ignore someone when they enter the room and then say hello after that.

Sounds to me like the doctor was rude, but in this society doctors are allowed to be somewhat rude. If you need his help, it's wise to put up with it, provided it doesn't get out of hand.

I'm certain it's just a social thing, I get it a bit and can go along with it but don't understand it completely.
