Do people think you look like you're not paying attention?

In my case I think it must be due to not nodding, and having a constant neutral expression. It's so irritating when I'm always asked angrily if I'm listening/understanding.
I swear, the next time it happens, I'm going to make a bad joke: "No habla Ingles..."

Oh yes. All the time. I used to confuse my teachers in elementary school because they would assume that I'm not paying attention and ask me a question, but I'd know the answer. 8)

All the time.

Sometimes they're right, sometimes I'm just not looking but listening to every word. If I'm in the middle of something - I won't hear you even if you scream. If you call me from amidst tv, fan, game console and compressor running in the fridge - you'll just melt into the cachophony - can't hear you. If I'm actively engaged in a conversation but not looking at you, I'm listening, probably better than you are.
