Doctor scored me on Autism I got 31, to be autistic score had to be 32, so they said I wasent autistic. WTF?

It sounds like they gave you the autism test that's on the wired website.

no its was completely oral and with physical tests, it was at a university,

...Still could've been the same/based on it.

If you're unsatisfied with the test you were given, get a second opinion. Frankly on something like psychological exams, I wouldn't trust the opinion of one doctor. You need a consensus to be sure.

It sounds like the AQ.

Recommended clinical use is:

* If someone takes it and scores 32+ screen further for autism.
* If someone asks to be screened and scores 26+ screen further for autism.

If you are ONE point under the threshold, you are not NT either. Just not autistic enough to meet your doc's criteria.

The test is not diagnostic either way. It's indicative of the possibility. You can score 36 and still be NT.

But the doctor is wrong to exclude autism entirely because he didn't get 31. What I said in my previous post is correct.

I am going to presume that the test was the AQ (baron cohen et al)
19 is the peak of the bell curve of scores so 31 is still well out there.
Lets add to this that i will wager that if you were given 2-3 diff variations of the test or even took the same on seoerate occations with different interviewers the scores would be different (probably still cluster in a ranfe but that may be as much as 2-4 points on a the scale(a great deal may deoend on how the interviewer interperates the question)

I had adhd untill this spring when i started questioning the dx, when i went for a second oppinion with a shrink who is reading the current research instead of the propaganda he gets from his drug reps and he basixally said that it was obvious that i was on tge spectrum, maybe since i only looked at him 2 x in an hour session (but if i had loijed more i would have burst out laughing b/c he looked like col kurts from apocolypse now. )
Mind you he wrote down the address for wro g planet whrm i mentioned it (seeing there is no local support community, or rather there a a couple for teens and pleanty for parents but not for adults kearning how to cope with a world the dont fit in. )
