What do you do when you get anxious over an obsession?

Does anyone have any sort of "calming" mechanisms?

If by obsessions you mean autistic special interests that give a lot of happiness, theres nothing I can do

If by obsessions you mean OCD style obsessions then theres..still not a lot I do.

Anxious over an obsession? I just indulge in my obsessions, which usually constitutes reading a whole lot.

As for dealing with anxiety in general, I used to pour a lot of alcohol down my throat to cope, but that just got me into trouble. I drank heavily from 2006 to early this year and haven't had a drop since it finally got me in jail.

Sounds funny, but masturbation helps. In my experience, it's impossible to feel anxiety of any kind after climaxing.

You can try the old "close your eyes and count" trick. It works for me with anger. Sometimes.

An amateur artist, I try to not let the motivation go to waste (depending on the obsession).

I've used my depressing obsessions as motivation for these art pieces/scraps:

and angry obsessions for these:

What kind of obsession(s) do you have?
If that's too personal, then what kind of emotional symptoms do you have to your obsession?

My autistic obsessions are a big source of happiness for me. :)

Obsessions that is me right there. I excessively print pictures of my current obsessions and carry the pictures around.

My huge one was transformers, all day everyday.

I don't like obsessing over things that make me anxious, and that happens quite a bit.

I usually just keep myself occupied by surfing the internet. Sometimes I might go to sleep and hope to wake up feeling better.
