I was 7 when I learned how to write. I was a bit slow as a child. I still am sometimes.

Is there an option for I don't remember because I had a horrible childhood?

I don't really remember myself, I'd hazard to say 3 or 4, but I really don't know.

I think I was 5 I was also slow I went to a special school when I was 13 there was no way I would have survived High school.
I'm still no good at maths.
I remember in primary school everyone was allowed to use fountain pens except me the teacher wouldn't let me I felt I was being discriminated against because of that.

Age 4 and half, i started to know letters of alphabet and to write something, but learning to write and to read fluently, is when i was 7, after the first week in school.

I learned to write when I was like 7 but I learned to be fully literate in 3 months when I was 9 or 10.

I'm the only person that said 8

I was obsessed with maths as a child, so I didn't see the point of learning how to read or write, because it didn't seem relevant. I'm glad I gave in and agreed to learn.

I could read at 4 and draw about the same age. But my writing was not legible until I was nearly 6.

I can't really remember since loads of bad information has pushed all the good memories out, but I think around 3-4.

I guess I had an unfair advantage, with my mother being a military school teacher and my Grandpa being a military college English professor. My earliest memory of writing anything was when I learned to spell a few basic words, and when I would write one down, I'd get a piece of candy, etc. I was too little to hold a pencil, so I was given large crayons to write (sloppily) with. When I entered Kindergarten (age 5), they said I was at about 2nd grade level in reading & writing. Again, I owe that to my family. It really came in handy for me, as I hated communicating with other people by speaking. I used to write letters to friends and family often, starting when I was 7 or 8. Weird, I know....

Yes it does. I wish they had electric typewriters and computers when I was under five years old. The old mechanical typewriters were nearly impossible for a very young person to work with.

I chose 4. I started kindergarten when I was 4, & could print well, but I was able to write in cursive at that time too. It was something my dad taught me...though I can't recall why. I know I was over 3 when I first learned to write. I just can't pinpoint my age when I first grasped printing. Oh well, close enough.

I picked four, although I need to find out how much of the writing on the walls habits I had before then.

I taught myself to read at 3, and at five I was freaking my kindergarten teacher out with correctly spelled polysyllabic words that she wasn't trying to teach me.
