Everytime I go on a parent: special needs child support site. I come across parents talking about their children using DD and DS. My understanding of what this means is very low; can somebody clear it up for me, thank you.

DD = dear daughter
DS = dear son
DH = dear husband

At least I think it's dear. It can be seen as diagnosed as well I suppose. It's just a way to refer to people without using names.

"Dx" is short for diagnosis. "DD" can also stand for developmental delay or developmental disorder; you'll have to figure that one out from context.
