Mine are getting out of control as I'm quite stressed lately. They involve crying, screaming, repeating, heavy stimming and rocking followed by childlike baby mode. anyone relate?

I used to have bad meltdowns, but I learned to compartmentalize a while back. Having a loving family certainly helps with that.

Sadly, my tips are:

Avoid stressful situations.
Run away to someplace quiet.

Or sometimes, if I'm lucky, pretend I'm not me, but rather someone else, who doesn't meltdown ever.

I try to get away from people to ride it out. If I can't get away then I hope I don't kill someone of seriously hurt them.

Try to turn it into sort of a shut down instead. I know its hard to not over react to a stressful situation (and I do), and just find a way to get out of the situation as soon as possible.
I wish you luck with the meltdowns.
