I'll sit for an interview about my history and then do the ADOS to see about updating my diagnosis and symptoms. All signs point to a dx of classic autism... but what if this is one of those guys/clinics that doesn't diagnose classic autism in an adult? Or what if I actually score really low on the ADOS for some weird reason?

Nervous. Just nervous.

Completely understandable.

Good luck.

I wish you the best of luck, supertrouper!

Did you do those tests before? I just had them both about 2 weeks ago, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. From some of the things you have posted on here, I doubt it will be possible for you to appear neurotypical enough to not receive the diagnosis. From what you've said, you definitely seem to have autism, and a good psychologist is going to pick this up. Good luck!

You probably won't score anywhere near NT on the ADOS, if that's reassuring at all.

They might diagnose you with PDD-NOS if they can't establish a childhood history. Will they also do the ADI-R?

I hope you get the proper diagnosis.

They will do a "interview concerning my history" with me but not my parents. Not sure exactly what it is. I've had the ADI-R done in the past and (I find this amusing), after 2 1/2 hours, their results were as follows: "Lydia's childhood is consistent with a childhood of someone with ASD." So much for so little!

I have childhood videos online I can show them, if they want to see them. I know tons about my childhood, too, from my mom... and if they want, they can even talk to my mom.

Why are you getting re evaluated?

1. Because my current dx from my psychiatrist is wrong!

2. Because we want to compare test results from 2 years ago to current ones, to see if I'm actually losing skills (I am, but they won't listen).
