I guess that explains why my sister has been such a prick towards my parents and I. She's much better now. We actually get along.

Actually, my sister and I get along pretty well. She still acts like a snivelling brat, but never (rarely) towards me.

It amazes me how many times someone will denounce a story because of where it was published without verifying that it is in fact real:

Autism is hereditary. Big news there (sarcasm).

Yeah, seriously. The broader autism phenotype has been known to exist for ages. That siblings of autistics would have mildly autistic-style brain patterns is utterly predictable.

Also in the news: Ice is cold, water is wet, and pain tends to hurt! Wow!!

This is all true, and I should have mentioned as well.

I got absorbed reading some study about gender differences in adults with ASCs.

I don't know whether to even have an opinion on that yet.

I'm not sure that sarcasm is necessary. What is obvious to you may not be known to others.

As for the person scoffing at the source of the news; would you have accepted every word had it come from "The Guardian"?

I wonder if this is true for parents of autistic kids too... :duh:

I believe both Kanner and Asperger observed this in parents, although I do not think they researched it very deeply.

I am certain this was what prompted the "refrigerator mother" theory.

Definitely not surprising. Haven't we concluded that autism is genetic?

I would be willing to trust it a bit more, but understand that I'm not saying that because it's in The Daily Mail IT'S WRONG, I'm just saying that The Daily Mail is the scum of the news world, and that it's best to be avoided.Links should first be given from the original studies/more consistently reliable sources.
