Seems logical & appropriate given their reasoning about autistic people being drawn to water and the dangers of some people drowning - especially those who are lower functioning combined with a propensity to wander off.

Personally, I was able to learn to swim just fine in regular classes & was then in a swim club for a year, as well as on my Jr high school's swim team, and took some lifeguarding courses etc.. so this sort of structured ASD learn-to-swim sort of lessons would have been a complete waste of resources on someone like me. But I do think it's fantastic for those who can benefit from it.

That's good, people should learn basic swimming.
