I frequently do this. I start laughing a lot without a real reason, wherever. The worst is when I do it in school: some teachers even reprove me for that. About other people, when I do it they think I'm crazy, or they get scared. I don't know if this is related to AS, but honestly I don't think so.
Anyone else does it?

I always laugh at something, but to other people it can seem like I'm laughing at nothing, and people have commented too. Once I was laughing at a funny ornament, and was hoping someone in the room would ask what's so funny and then join me laughing (because the ornament was typically funny), but someone just said, ''why are you laughing all on your own?'' I immediately stopped laughing after that because the way he said it made me feel silly.

I laugh with a reason, but people sometimes think it's no reason because they don't find it funny, I guess.

I've done it sometimes too, although getting in trouble at school for something like this is ridiculous.

Maybe it's a form of light stimming?

Oh, I laugh for a reason. It's just a reason I don't really want to explain. :/

I think I almost have a laughter reflex in social situations, it is useful in allowing extra time to comprehend the situation, but often makes me look like an idiot, laughing when nothing funny has happened. In the past when people say they are upset about something tragic happening, like someone dying, I have laughed, I am not laughing because I am amused, but because I am trying hard to display an emotion in sympathy to someone, the wrong one comes out.

I often laugh out loud while thinking of things. I have done this in public and have gotten quite a few strange looks.

Sounds familiar...I've been told I'm laughing when nothing is funny and I've gotten in trouble at work for it. some things never change..... sometimes I catch myself laughing out of intense nerves and anxiety as if a protective response to prevent a panic attack. But most of the time there IS something funny but just might not be funny to other people.

There's nothing wrong with it and infact I'm shure laughter is the best medicine.
Being creeped out is just a feeling remember. Doesnt mean there is anything wrong with it

I do this. But it's usually something I find funny in my head; a memory or whatever. I can't control my facial expression when this happens. It can be embarrassing.

Yep. I have also laughed when people tell me things and then they would take it personally like I didn't take them seriously. I have laughed when my husband talk to me and he tells me "you knew it was a joke, you laughed." I wonder if my mind can know something was a joke and I didn't know it but my subconsciousness did. I also laugh when I get funny images in my head and people think i am laughing about something else rather than the picture they gave me in my head. I have had people ask me "what's so funny?" when I laugh about something I was thinking about or remember.

I laugh a lot....but not for no reason but people often see it as no reason....as its because Im usually daydreaming or thinking about something funny. Which then usually leads to people asking me what I laughing at/about then I mostly lie and say nothing instead of wasting my time trying to explain to them what's so funny.

I often find myself laughing in really inappropriate situations too

There is a reason, it's just that you've forgotten what it is.

I do it too

My mum who was an abused spouse by my dad, and certinly aspie, used to reprove laughing without any reason for laughing, she hate Lucille ball's giggles...etc, I laugh rarely nowadays, but I did at aschool for no reason, must havie been my coping with my traumatic childhood I suffered from daily...my dad beating up my mum and me realising I had homophile feelings. I can only smile and laugh when I am high on pot.

Kinda same here, although it hasn't happened lately - guess the lack of company. But at younger age it happened often, i felt bad about it cause it often happened at the middle of some serious conversation. Something funny suddenly came on my mind when i was asked what did you laugh at i just said nothing...of course it then ruined my hard earned friendships... But i also didn't want to feel stupid or didn't want my partner think that her problems are boring or other matters.
