I was at a 'social' event with my wife a few weeks back.

It was actually a wine tasting and my lovely wife was acting as my seeing eye dog (she's an NT)

The venue was sufficiently crowded to make perhaps even an NT feel a little uncomfortable and within a few minutes of arriving I had managed to drop (and break) a wine glass, which I managed to knock over with a wine menu.

My wife and I managed to take refuge in a less crowded area and even managed to find seating, much to my relief!

I stayed seated for the remainder of the event, with my wife looking after the wine flow (with no further breakages)

We saw the funny side (is there any other) of my predicament and enjoyed a good laugh.

I also spent a little time people watching the NTz, which was far more interesting than attempting to engage them in small talk.

What are your funny social experiences?

My father wants me to get more exercise,so he made me go to the pool. I could not figure out how to open the gate. I got nervous and started pacing around. Someone showed up and opened it. And it turned out that it's easy to open. I was very abashed.
