Is it an Aspie thing to figet, and flick their hands and similar, or is it just me? Does any one else do it? My teacher used to have to give me special Play Dough stuff so I would stop because I did it so much.

Does a bear sleep in the woods?

I've only seen bears in zoos!

On a more serious note: Fidgeting/stimming is pretty common for people on the autism spectrum I believe.

Not just Aspies. People with ADHD do, and ADD, and even Dyspraxia.

I fidget a bit, but not excessively because I get called a baby, and being called a baby is my pet peeve and causes me to have an angry meltdown, which is what I don't want.

All babies and little kids fidget - that is why I don't like them sitting next to me on the bus. But when I got older, to about 10, I used to sit really still and not move a muscle, especially in the classroom when the teacher was talking. I used to sit and stare into space, and get lost in my thoughts and ages. Once I just about heard, ''you're as still as a statue!'' And I realised how still I was, and suddenly moved.

I have developed an anxiety disorder since I was 19, and so I've become more agitated since, which is why I can't sit as still as a statue any more.

I don't fidget much when I'm relaxed (like when I'm working, or watching tv), but if I'm doing something stressful (like talking to people I don't know well), I fidget quite a bit. I've actually taken to wearing a hair tie on my wrist so I have something to play with. No one seems to think it's too strange, so I've stuck with it. Now I wear two so I still have a toy when I actually want my hair pulled back :-)

I think I might even fidget in my sleep. I wouldn't be too surprised.

I'm constantly fidgiting. If it's not my hands, it's my feet &/or legs. I've never been able to sit perfectly still, even when I've been threatened with punishment.

I'm a constant stimmer. I'll often push buttons on my game controller when I'm waiting for my game to load, because it feels nice to hold buttons down. :)

I have a stress ball which I use to distract myself (which is great, by the way, since it's also socially acceptable). I also tap and just fidget in general.
