When I was a kid, they would cause me to burst into tears. Even now, loud sounds, particularly yelling or screams, will either threaten to make me cry or enraged. (If I happened to have no conscience whatsoever, I would have punted more than a few toddlers several feet into the air during my lifetime. :?)
I wish that didn't happen. It's so distracting.

Have you ever been crossing the street and almost got hit by a car? Or anything similar, that causes your nerves to shatter and go crazy for the next 15 minutes? That's how sudden loud noises make me feel.

Once when I had hiccups my fiancé decided the way to make them stop was to scare me so when the room was really quiet he suddenly screamed in my ear. He got more than he bargained for because I burst into tears and was traumatised for the rest of the day, lol. And yes it did make the hiccups stop!

Cry no, but loud sounds do make me angry. But it's because it's physically painful to my ears & head (causes something in me like an instant intense headache). I want it to stop & stop NOW!! !

Sudden noises don't make me cry, but they do make me angry - especially when they are unnecessary.

this mostly. usually if someone shouts something within earshot at someone else while walking towards me.

a bit off-topic, but I dig a lot of punk and grind, noisy s**t to most people but are there AS people that actually dig noisy rubbish like me?

Loud sounds usually don't bother me, but when I'm stressed out or tired, I become startled and on edge when I hear them...and this can lead to a bout of anger. On my worst days, all sounds stress me out and I do everything in my power to hold this anger in. This is anxiety related though.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

They used to when I was a kid, they still do. But whenever I get bothered I tell myself to stop being a whiny b***h and get over it. It works.

Am I allowed to swear?

Like several other people have said, they don't make me cry but they make me angry. They don't even have to be sudden or exceptionally loud to make me angry. Lots of noises make me angry.

I've actually been nearly hit a couple times while crossing WITH THE LIGHT. Once the car actually brushed my coat. For some reason, though, noise causes more of a reaction from me than those incidents. Maybe it's because those incidents were more like, "WTH just happened?" and I was too confused to be traumatized.

Don't make me cry and don't make me angry, but do have a negative emotional response. It's something more specific than just making me tense, but I don't know how to put the rest into words :(

But loud noises, especially sudden ones, make my entire body tense up and make everything feel wrong. It's more wrongness than anger. It is actually a very similar feeling to when I was almost hit by a car (though I disagree with whoever said that causes wrongness for 15 minutes, it lasted way longer than that).

My response is more like this:

"Geez, is it really necessary for you to be that ridiculously loud? STFU!"

They usually make my anxiety levels spike, which can make me extremely irritable. If I am already really stressed out then I sometimes have a meltdown.
