Well, that depends on the country you live in. I'm pretty sure that being autistic is not a viable reason in itself in any country, though. In the Netherlands, you pretty much have to be dying to begin with.

No. Euthanasia, where it is legal, is legal only for those with terminal illnesses.

Are you suicidal? If so, I'd like to remind you that it is possible--and common--to be both autistic and happy. You can live--and things can get better.

If you're in acute crisis (i.e., making plans, feeling impulsive enough to go through with them), then you can call emergency services and tell them you are extremely suicidal and you need help so that you don't kill yourself. They will help. You may end up in the hospital on a 72-hour hold (or longer), but you won't die, and that's worth sitting in a hospital room and being bored.

There are also hotlines you can call to get help, people who specialize in helping those who are suicidal. Your phone book will have them. Look under "suicide hotline", yellow pages.

Being on the spectrum will not get you any special treatment in this matter. Nor should it to be honest. Having said that, there are doctors who are willing to assist. You just have to be lucky to find one.
