I freak out in the same way every time I clean my room....and especially if I move furniture around.

Sometimes it helps me a little bit if I can draw out the changes--e.g. draw a floorplan of my room the way it was, and then draw arrows (or something else) to indicate the movement of whatever I changed/put away.....this is harder to do if I painted the walls or something, but sometimes even just having a "before" and "after" drawing of my room helps my brain to integrate the two as the same. This doesn't make me stop freaking out entirely, but it helps a bit. Dunno if doing this would help you?
If you changed your room by moving things or cleaning, could you put anything back where it was? Maybe having one or two objects where they used to be would help?
The only other suggestion I have is to try to desensitize yourself to your room--spend lots of time in your room during the day. While you're there, try doing something that usually makes you happy--and difficult as it might be, try to focus on that activity instead of on the freaked out/unsafe feelings.
Good luck!
