Hi. Do you have this problem with procrastination? How do you solve it? Thanks.

Virtually everyone has problems with procrastination to some extent. I think as an aspie I'm more susceptible to it because of my anxiety. The only way I've found to deal with it is to try to do very tiny bits of my task at a time. For example, if I have a homework assignment I might do one problem then go relax for a while, then come back and do two problems and then three, etc.

Yes. I was procrastinating on writing something I wanted to write.

So I identified what was intimidating me. A huge blank Microsoft Word document.

I identified an alternative that would not be so intimidating. Writing it on twitter since they have a character limit per tweet.

And I do it in small bits whenever I feel able and willing.

Could you break down your work into small bits like this?

I always mean to procrastinate, but I never get around to it.

I've started to really like using lists. If you have something to do break it down in small tasks and cross the off the list as you go. I try to make the list items intentionally easy so I can cross them off quickly and feel like I'm making progress.

Yes, I have a problem with procrastination. I've been working on it by stopping whatever I'm doing when I remember something that needs done and doing it. Otherwise, I end up forgetting about it in approximately 2.3 seconds and it doesn't get done.

I have terrible trouble with procrastination, and what I find helps best is to break down tasks into small chunks, and to make lists of what needs to be done. When finishing last-minute work on my internship report, I made endless to-do lists and kept crossing off whatever I had finished. I worked for eight hours straight, whereas without a planning, I got overwhelmed and procrastinated instead (hence that the eight-hour job was last minute :P).

Yes, it's one of my biggest flaws. As far as schoolwork goes, using the alarm on my cellphone works. And heading to the library right after class is effective too.

If you have multiple task you must do, plan a day to do them, wake up early, go out and do whatever you need to do, at least in my case, i work better just doing everything in sequence when i think i am procrastinating

Quit your crying, suck it up, and just do it.

I know it sounds rude, but that's the truth.
