Although being a part of this online community is very helpful, I am a point in my life where I want to relate to other Aspies and people like me in person so that I am not spending all my time on my computer. Are there any Aspie meetup groups anywhere in southern California? I live in Orange County(about 45 min south of LA). It would of course be a lot more interesting to finally meet some really decent people in person. I have some good friends, but not many and my loneliness is driving me crazy.

Yeeeaaa I've never met another aspie... That I know of. Or even maybe that they know of...... BUT HEY I do live in so cal. Never know, could be interesting

Cool aspies? Wouldn't that require some level of self awareness relative to social contexts that define coolness? Of course I have always thought that if you thought you were cool you were not, if you wonder if maybe you are cool, you are not, and if you think you probably not cool then you are not. Which makes me wonder if anyone anywhere is is cool.

Before you consider going to an Aspie meetup, ask yourself if you really want to go to a hotel ballroom full of people who aren't talking to each other. I don't think that would be much fun.

Ok let me replace the word cool with friendly. I have a habit of using the word in place of friendly. I don't know why...maybe I picked it up from someone else I used to hangout with.
