It's coming to the end of August, so autumn is on it's way. Everywhere I go all the shops are doing a clearance of summer stuff. Argos has issued an ''Autumn & Winter'' catalogue. The evenings are drawing in and are noticing. My heart sinks at the thought of Britain is getting ready for another cold, dark, miserable winter. I hate it. I wish I lived somewhere where winter was spring and summer was summer - no such thing as autumn and winter. I just cannot wait 'til march 31st when the clocks go forward again. But because I hate winter, March will take ages and ages to come, whilst summer wizzes by so quick.

Anyone else feel like this when autumn is coming?

i really can do without january and february. december is my fave month, because it is cool and damp [but not snowy yet, like the aforementioned months] and full of pretty paper and shiny colorful lighting and xmas cheer, and everybody at least pretends to be all about good will toward one's fellow man ['cept for the shopping lines and sales which can get pretty brutally competitive]. plus i was born in december, so how could i not like a month with both my birthday and xmas? fall is my favorite season, because it is not hot like summer and not cold like the depths of winter. i used to get fairly depressed in springtime, when i'd see happy couples hand-in-hand when i was denied such. but now that i am officially an old fart, i am closer to the end than to the beginning, and am too old to still be concerned about such. the main thing i can like about the warmer months is seeing bootylicious types in abbreviated dress. other than that, i'll stay indoors in air conditioning if at all possible.

Winters are usually hard to bear in Britain. I don't mind the change of season I just hate the way it drags on. I too hate February and March, they are like the worst of winter for me. I usually try to distract myself with something and just look forward to the clocks changing in March.

I love winters, it is nice and cold.

It is summer that is horrible and hot and sticky loads of insects.

I think I love summer because I love butterfles and moths, and I have a phobia of snow.

I love spring because it's so fresh, and where I come from April always seems to be the best month for weather. Plus my birthday falls in the springtime.

My favourite time of the year (this is not for weather reasons) is February and March, because that's when you've got the whole spring and summer ahead to look forward to, and the nights are getting shorter and the days are getting warmer....lovely!! !!

Well I have Major Depression, but a lot of times it is worse in the summer because of the heat.........I am heat sensative, and too much heat makes me feel like a brain dead zombie which just adds to my depressed feelings. I feel kind of how you feel around May...April is ok because I like rain and it rains a lot in that month. But yeah I actually like it in the fall and winter.

I'm actually depressed when Spring comes to Oregon, because the rain moves up a few notches and can soak you in five minutes. Winter is okay, as long as it's not too rainy. I think Autumn and Summer are the best times of the year here.

And of course, for some people winter means less light and Seasonal Affective Disorder.

I do sometimes struggle with depression but not really sure if I have SAD.

Actually, I kind of enjoy the first cold snap.

I don't mind the cold, but shortness of daylight gets to me. Having to drive both to and from work in the dark is unbearable. It just isn't natural to have to get out of bed hours before the sun rises.

I don't like summer its far too hot and I get lethargic. I wish we could just have Autumn, Winter and spring then we wouldn't have the stinking hot weather.
