I just posted a new thread to metafilter. It was deleted by an admin. They said it was interesting and worth posting, but was framed in a bad way. I described a dancer (Sylvie Guillem) as being like an alien, because she can do seemingly impossible things with her body. I like aliens, and generally assume they will have superior minds and bodies (in order to visit us), so it never occurred to me that this would be seen as a negative or inappropriate comment. Maybe dislike of aliens is a social thing (NTs value same-ness)? Or a result of watching too many movies?

Usually when I start threads on social sites they just get ignored, so at least I'm being noticed now. :)

Have you ever had a social network post deleted for an innocent reason?

Tsk, tsk, remember, moderator, that you do not let your power corrupt you!

Yes, that's happened to me. Once I was accused of misogyny, once of racism, and once because I accidentally used more than one Livejournal account to post on the same topic (they thought I was trying to use the second account as a sock puppet; it was accidental--I keep three accounts, one for personal, one for my blog, one for my writing stuff--and I had switched accounts before I went back to check on the conversation). None of those times did I really have the opinions they attributed to me. It was very frustrating, and the times I got accused of being a bigot, I actually cried IRL because of how much I am afraid of hurting people, especially people who have been pushed down by bigots their whole lives. Maybe I was being over-emotional about it, but I can't help what I feel.

I suspect that might be common among AS people. That maybe causes some problems: we find social situations difficult so are less likely to insult people. I know that for me my default position is to look for the good in everyone and always be positive (i.e. desperate to be liked). That is the context for almost everything I write, and I forget that others don't know that.

Or put another way, NTs often put others down, so they assume that we do as well.

Facebook, Reddit, and all those "up vote" places. Though I don't find them very sociable. In Facebook, your posts are lost in the flood. On Reddit you get ignored, and on Metafilter your posts don't get seen in the first place.

WrongPlanet is the only network I consider sociable. You guys are great. If it wasn't for here then I would sometimes wonder if I exist at all.

I have had my threads removed and I never knew why. I have had some locked too and I asked one time why was it locked. The admin told me it was because the whole thread turned into attacks on other forums and their own and they don't want the drama there from other boards if someone from there decides to google their own forum name. I have also had my yahoo Answers removed and I thought I was being bullied there but I found out later it's common for trolls to report questions for no reason and have them removed. I had no idea it happened with other users too and it was a common thing there. I take things so personally sometimes.

Another time I posted a funny thread about breast milk and it got locked and removed. I was also put on mod watch so I was unable to access my own profile and other peoples profiles and another person was banned after he replied in my thread. The admin there thought I was trolling and the other person put me up to it. I was pissed about what happened there so I don't really go there anymore. I did occasionally still but not much.

I've had the same thing happen on forums (not social networking ones). I suspect my writing sounds wooden and salesman-like, devoid of emotion. Many internet posters are so chatty and they address others in their responses whereas I have a tendency to be longwinded.
