I got really mad when I found this out but there are several experts on Asperger's Syndrome who claim that he was an Aspie AND a sociopath--not just a sociopath. That might account for his rigid viewpoints, but I thought he was charismatic! I know some Aspies are reported to have strange charismas, but I can't see an Aspie being Cool enough to cause so many people to do such terrible things. The researchers say he was socially awkward, and I remember something about abuse...? Any thoughts?
He had a lot of handlers and helpers who pushed him along. One was a stage magician who taught him techniques in how to grab ahold of an audiance and what gestures showed strength. He also fanaticly collected an Occultic magazine even showing up at their office to buy back issues. You can see in some photos where people are talking to him but he is not making eye contact with the speaker and is looking else where. I believe one general complained of this. He also had major melt downs when things were not going his way. He also had a fondness towards dogs but was cold towards people even the women who showed affection towards him were treated coldly. He was ridged in his dealing with new tactics and technology refusing to use them. They had an anti-aircraft missile that was cheap to build and worked better than their 88mm flak guns but he stopped its construction because he did not like defensive weapons.
When he painted he created buildings flawlessly but his people looked strange. The art teacher suggested he study architecture but he would not have any of it never pursuing it. I see a lot of aspie traits but I am no psychologist.
Didn't Dr. Hans Aspergers tell the Nazis that you needed some autistic tendancies for the sake of science and art?
