What are your repetitive interests? How does it effect you and others?

I have repetitive interests. I used to talk about them on WP. I only talk about them and post videos in the music threads in Random Discussion, these days. I don't want to annoy anyone.

I keep thinking about it in my head and it doesn't leave it. I can spend time looking it up. I have talked about them in the past but everyone got tired of it so I talked about it with my shrink only. Sometimes I will talk about my interests to one of my aspie friends or to my husband.

I let it be known that I'm a Kinks Fan from time to time but I also work on my small talk and that's why I answer every thread that pops up in order to get talking about a variety of things.

Mine usually revolve around music, also. This has had its advantages socially, because it has pushed me to get involved in music and meet a few people...but I also can't get off the subject. I'll usually discover (or rediscover) new artists and listen to their entire catalogs...I've done this with the Pixies, U2, Bob Dylan, ad. finitium. Presently I've been listening to Weezer nonstop for a couple of weeks.

My repetitive interests are Tim Burton's movies and anime. They take turns being my dominant interest.

Evil sorcerer characters are quite the recurring theme for me.

Mine are books by certain authors. I read them over and over again. They're all lined up in chronologial order and nobody else is allowed to touch them.

My daughter's is Anne Frank and the holocaust and Japan, she has mountains of books and videos and wants to do oriental studies at university.

My husband's is chemistry and radios.

My brother's is ancient Greece (he ended up studying classics at Oxford) and football.

My mum's is Catherine Cookson books :eew:

My nephew's is now gardening but when he was younger it was flags, dinosaurs and football.

Yes we are all autistic.
