Curse words like the F bomb, the S-word for example. To me saying them causes even more problems to people. Whatever I say curse words, I feel guilty saying them while everyone else says them like its no big deal. I just do not understand why people say curse words. I though these were were bad and not good.

Well I do use them because words are words to me, I don't really give it much thought. I try not to around some people though.

I don't, and never have. I don't like hearing those words, and I practice what I preach. I'm so adamant about this issue, that people have made fun of me for it. And it's nothing to do with religion, as I'm an agnostic. My family also has shunned cussing, and I don't think in my life, I ever heard a cuss word from a family member. I know most won't believe this, but it's true.

I use them some times. I don't say them all the time.

I used to avoid them entirely because I didn't know what to use them for. They were part of my teaching myself colloquial English, though, so now I use them occasionally. They are most effective when used very sparingly, as a sort of emphasis for statements containing extreme feeling. I have found that when someone is distressed, especially if they have been hurt by someone else, a well-placed profanity can help communicate how much I am upset at the person who has been cruel to them.

I still avoid "God" or "Jesus", because those just feel wrong to me. I'm a Christian and it feels like somebody's using my mom's name as a curse word. Not exactly comfortable, and a total pet peeve to me.

Dear god, I swear like a sailor sometimes when I hurt myself in a stupid way (which is fairly often). I've managed to substitute the f-bomb with "feathers" instead.

Sheet music!
I used to not swear, but around the time I turned 18 or so I just suddenly started. Not much but still. Generally I like to think the more someone swears, the smaller their vocabulary is. It's just not mature, theres better more polite ways to express yourself.

I never swear, I have only ever said curse-words or typed them, in quotations that I had reason to say (which is ridiculously rare but occurs).

However, it doesn't bother me if people use them as a way to deal with extreme emotions.

They don't bug me, but I don't use them much. I tend to see them as a crutch for people that aren't smart enough or don't know the language well enough to use a word that actually means what they want to say. Since I do have an antiquate vocabulary and the ability to access it at will, I would be damaging my own self esteem to use them. Just within the last couple years I started having occasional outbursts at my children (not violent, not often, and I AM getting them under control) and I cuss when that happens. It certainly falls into the damaging my self esteem category, and up until about 2 years ago, it was extreme for me to say "crap" even when the kids weren't around.

When I was a teen I cussed ALL-THE-TIME though. It felt freeing because it was a socially acceptable (for a teen) way to do something totally not socially acceptable...so it was a release and an area I didn't have to always work to do things "right". I was like Sailor-Mouth smurf. lol

I think I swear too much, I try to keep my amount of swearing and cursing as low as I can. I think it is better if I do not turn the air blue with a series of choice words. In my 30s I found that a used much fewer curse words than I did in my youth.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

I never used curse words before college, but college required the liberal application of profanities.

The only time I ever swear is when I am in intense pain or am extremely upset. I tend to throw around less harmful derivatives of swear words in conversation though (i.e. friggin', frickin', shitake mushrooms :P)

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

I'll generally swear more at home, but not in the company of others. In the rare instance that I do swear in front of others, I normally get comments like "You shouldn't swear, it doesn't suit you", or something to that effect. I say f**k 'em.
