Am I the only one tired of trying to figure out how to read social cues?

I just want to give up and tell everyone I know to either be completely blunt with me or stop talking to me altogether. :?

The way you asked your question in the poll confused the heck out of me so sorry if I clicked the wrong answer. But yeah, I do get tired of trying to figure out social cues. This is one of the many reasons why I spend most of my time alone, or otherwise not talking to people very much.

That's okay, I confused myself and voted wrong as well.

I have told people to be blunt with me. They still don't do it, though.

Oh yeah, "yes" means "yes you are the only one" meaning "I am not tired of trying to read social cues" which is quite the opposite of what I wanted to say.

I thought at least I was supposed to be able to thread through logic and stuff. Well, sometimes I am, but not today.

Anyway I know I can't expect other people to stop throwing out those subtle cues any more than I can expect them to stop blinking. But I did tell a couple of people that if they told me something, don't be surprised if I believe them.

Here is the time course of my social cue reading, so far:

Pre-diagnosis: There are no social cues to be read.
Post-diagnosis: WTF?! Social cues? You mean people haven't been saying exactly what they meant all along? FFFFFFF!! !

Ah, before I learned of AS, I thought I had it all figured out. I remember quite a few times going into great detail on body language with some people and stating with certainty what they meant.

I'm betting now they all laughed about my silly (and very misguided) ideas.

Well I said "no" as in: no, you are not the only one. Don't know if that was how I was supposed to do it, but that was what I picked and why.

I'm not tired of it, because I've already given up on it.

I can sometimes read social cues, but oftentimes I can't read them!
I know about this because my wife has mentioned many times about "dropping me hints" about something; but apparently I couldn't read them, so she got angry and frustrated with me....(we have lived apart for over a month, now)...
NOT the easiest way to learn about your limitations, is it? :?

Darn I think I voted wrong too.

I voted Yes, but meant Yes I am tired.

I really really wish people would spit out what the heck they want.
