What type of autism do you think Tom in this documentary has? This documentary said that Oli had 'High Functioning Autism' & it said Alex has 'Asperger Syndrome, ut it didn't say what Tom had. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSxgCguPEaM

- His irritability and coping mechanism are pretty moderate , not mild - he pulled a knife out on his father and ran away 3 times. His mother said he's so kept up at being at home , that he's really fighting for an adult life.
- His mother takes care of him and he doesn't seem to function efficiently well on his own.
- He seems to be fed up with so much bottled up rage that with responding with physical disputes from social reciprocity of seemingly neutral statements but this isn't indubitable to him.
- He is still treated like a child and is consequently sent to a school that treats you like children in order to care for yourself , as a last resort stated by his mother.
- He plays the guitar and that's his special interest representing a average IQ in contrast to special interest in Mathematical Physics.

Sometimes the syndrome is divided into low-, medium- or high-functioning autism (LFA, MFA, and HFA), based on IQ thresholds,[52] or on how much support the individual requires in daily life; these subdivisions are not standardized and are controversial

However these are merely correlations and do not imply causation , as it is a prediction.

You're funny... All those autistic piano players must be bad at piano, too? Both use fine motor skills.

Maybe PDD-NOS? Not completely sure though. He's definitely not severe.

The way he behaves at social situations in the same sort of way I would behave, and I'm high-functioning. He's not having a meltdown or anything, just sitting there feeling shy, just like I feel when I'm in a social situation. I think I smile a bit more than Tom does, but we're all different. But what I'm saying is, he's similar to me with my actions in a social situation.

But I think I would have joined in that thing where they were holding onto eachother in a circle and dancing sort of. I wouldn't have backed away, especially if they were including me. I would have gone along with it.

I'm watching those videos now and I hate stuff like that so much. I wouldn't have gone along with it.

I don't dance ever. Well I did this one time when I was 19 but I was drunk and only did it because I managed to steal a woman away from her male date and wanted to flaunt it.

Its worth watching the 'one year on' videos too.
I think the depression is making it less clear what type of autism Tom has, either that or he is on medication for is anger (frustration) issues. or both.
I can't help but like the lad though. (as are oli and alex)
