I received a copy of a letter from Psychiatrist to the AS consultant about the meeting we had. This is what the psychiatrist wrote about eye contact.

In clinic with me initially did not seem uncomfortable and acknowledged that it was not uncomfortable to make direct eye contact with me (albeit brief) but as time progressed he clearly became more uncomfortable, made less eye contact (looking down) started fidgeting with hands and developed a nervous rash on his neck.

At the time i did not know i developed a rash does this happen to you, and is that how your eye contact goes?

I get a rash on my inner forarms and back off my neck when I am stressed but I never know when it starts...just shows up and I dont notice it on my neck until I start to perspire, because then it really itches...think I am alergic to stress.

I met with my AS asseser 4 times and I have been able to maintain eye contact for a little longer last time...but still not comfortable.
