In the past month, i've found that foods of wheat/milk are starting to make me sick. Is it just me, or with a certain age aspies find this to be increasingly sickening.
I am age 18 and a half.

I started geetting IBS at around 12...I think it may have been the milk....My mom made us drink it for every supper....when I started living on my own,I stopped drinking it....but I still have IBS...so,I dont know if its a cause, but it does seem to make it worse.I have never tried to give up gluten...I love twelve grain breads(inexpensive, filling and good fiber, lots of B vitemens, but I have been considering it
I just need to make the time to research it ,so I do it "right" and dont make myself sicker.

Well, I have a milk intolerance & am a Coeliac also. The gluten free/casein free diet is used anyway by many to improve Autistic symptoms, but whether it's a classical allergy or an intolerance, it is worth finding out more.
IBS will follow on from an untreated intolerance anyway (more often than not)
Anyway, a good place to start (primarily for an intolerance) is www.yorktest.com. For more info on benefits of GF/CF diet have a look at www.autismdiet.com. It is estimated that 1 in 4 people (NTs & Autistics alike) have a dairy intolerance.

well the reason for this is that dairy is one of the most unnatural things for adult humans to eat. milk is for babies, and generally babies of the species that produced the milk. but oh well, who am i to tell anybody what to eat. :D

I  Gluten.

I eat shredded wheat and grapenuts flakes every day.

Probably bad for me, but the time since I started eating it all the time has been great. (though that's probably just a coincidence)

The irony of trying to eat "healthy is the best thing for IBS is fiber...found in a lot of "gluton" products..
I dont really like fruit...even after washing it often tastes bitter and "chemical" to me and I cant afford
"organic",so dont even "go there"...I love veggies but they give me gas(I eat them anyway...poor boyfriend)but even that doesnt seem to help the IBS....

I'm not a celiac, but i try to avoid gluten at all costs, as i've noticed that I actually have an addict's reaction to bread, cravings, withdrawls, etc. I don't really like how excitable and jumpy I am when I eat too much bread.

We tried a gluten/dairy free diet in our household surprisingly the only person that was affected was my NT wife who found she was allergic to dairy. BTW the gluten free bread is nasty
