Sometimes, I have to read a sentence three or four times. It takes me at least twice as long to read something as a normal person (although my comprehension is rated superior). I have to use my hands to determine left and right when giving directions (although my map memorization is almost photographic). I write the letters in words in the wrong order. I will be thinking a number correctly, but write or say it in the wrong order. I sometimes write letters backward or up-side-down. When writing a b or d I have to stop and think about which way it goes. I am ambidextrous and I recently found out that I am dyspraxic. I thought other people might share and I wanted to see what percentage of us this affects.

I am ambidextrous, I have poor coordination and I stumble over my own legs. I have great sense of direction and spatial thinking, no problems with left and right and I read few times faster than average people.

I was never officaly diagnosed but I could never understand what I read and always had to have books on tape. I remember my mom made me do this stupid program that expected you to finish so many books within a school year. I never finished all of them and some of them made me have meltdowns. I needed all of my books on tape so I could draw pictures or paint while I listened to them. I could really only focus on them if I was drawing or painting. If I have to read a book, I have to read it over and over and over and over and over again in order to understand what is being said and often times I don't. I loose my place all the time and often times just give up. My mom often had to read my books to me. When I read outloud, I could never focus on what I was reading because I was trying to get the words right.

I probably do have dyslexia and if i was a kid today, I would definatly be diganosed with dysgraphia and dyscalculia. I'm probably going to have to have come accomadiations for those when I go to college and vet school.

A fair enough criticism, but you can simply not vote.

Anyway, I voted for "dyslexic," even though I haven't been diagnosed by a professional and I don't like self-diagnosing. There's definitely some kind of reading/learning disorder that I deal with on a daily basis, which I presume is dyslexia because I don't know what else to call it. It goes beyond simple concentration issues. Even when I can focus perfectly, I often find myself reading plain English and the words all blur together into an incomprehensible jumble, so that it may as well be written in Chinese.

Not voting means not seeing the results though.

Although I am ambidextrous, I still enjoy sports.

None of the above.

My dyslexic-like symptoms are more due to ADHD. I had some minor dyspraxic problems.
Even my apparent dyscalculia seems to be ADHD related.

I'm neither right or left handed but my writing from my right hand is passable. That was sarcasm.

You're right. I screwed up. I'm sorry. I realized it on the way to work. I don't think that I'm the only one with short-term memory problems and executive dysfunction here, though, Ms. Phonic. :) I'm going to repost under "Dyslexic mistake" if anybody is still interested in participating.

Dyslexic and have traits of dyspraxic but not sure if that is true or not.

I have difficulty with:

-Telling right from left
- Used to have speech problems and a delay
- mix up i and e in sentences.
- Sloppy handwriting but legible.
- Difficulty with parking.
- On the road, I swear people are about to hit me in their cars or I freak out if someone is walking on the sidewalk as I think I'm too close to them.
- Used to flip d b, write c backwards amongst some other letters
- flip numbers 52 turns into 25. Usually if it's a phone number, it's the last two digits of the number that is flipped or the beginning of the last four
- If I am not concentrating, I used to throw away silverware that was in one hand while putting what was supposed to be the trash in the sink. This week my mind was on food and coffee. I wasn't concentrating and I pulled a bowl out of the dishwasher and poured my coffee in the bowl which was supposed to be for soup.

Not sure if this is dyspraxia.

I have a hell of a time reading and spelling. Was dxed dyslexic before the asd dx,
one thing lead to the next. I was about seven or eight when I started to use only
my right hand for writing, probably because most kids in class were right handed.
never really remembered this before I read that ambidextarity can be common with
dyslexia. I can write equaly well with both hands. I now think it is more common with
the Autism spectum

I try to keep the ambidextarity to myself because I have read and also
have met people who think it is do to having brain damage.
