With 2011 bringing a long boring extended summer this year i just cant wait for the onset of winter now and hope that it brings plenty of decent blizzards and snowstorms. Snow is just the best type of weather ever.

I love winter. Walking around in blizzards is the best. Hey, look, world devoid of people! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I hate the long, cold, New England winters (I'm from Massachusetts), but I do enjoy the holiday season.

You and me both! :D

It very, very rarely snows where I live, but in recent years we've had like 2 snowfalls a year, compared to absolutely none, say 10 years ago.

Ohhh my god - almost choked when I saw this thread! :D

I hate winter. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I'm hypersensitive to the cold (much more severe than normal) and this year we might not be able to afford heating, so I think I will probably come down with some sort of life-threatening illness this year. And the snow bothers me, because I might be officially starting a job by winter (which I'm being trained for at the moment) and if it keeps snowing and I've barely started there, I've got to keep ringing up already and saying I can't come in, or even if there's hardly no snow about, my bus still won't turn up because where the depot is based is in one of those places what is a nightmare with traffic with or without snow, ice or even frost, so with just a little flurry of snow it will still be chaos (it was last year, I remember), or if it snows in the middle of the day the bus might get held up and I might get stranded.....it's all worrying me. You don't get none of this hassel in the summer.

I've got seasonal depression at the moment too. September to December are my worse months. I hate Christmas too.

Can't wait til spring again!

Winter is the lesser of two evils. Cold sucks, but it doesn't give me headaches and make me nauseated, and you can always put on more clothes.

I love winter too. Shoveling snow isn't any fun, but I love cold weather and I think snow is beautiful. I grew up in the south and never experienced more than a couple inches of snow until I moved up here to NY. Even though I understand all the science behind snow, I still can't help but feel like it's magic.

Back when I was depressed, it seems that winter was the time when my memories weren't quite so dark. Which is strange, because I really dislike feeling cold.
Then again, I don't like feeling too warm either. Last year, the summer weather took forever to finally cool down. I was checking the forecast every day and groaning whenever the temperatures were predicted to go up at all during the following week. Even now, it lingers in the mid to low 80s. Oh well, it's only a matter of time...

Oh no, not winter!
The snow's fine and all, but I'm usually depressed in winter.

We're probably going to have a stinking hot summer this year I can't see what's so great about the heat, the flies, the lethagy, as for going on the beach I don't want to get skin cancer.
When summer starts I always say "Roll on Winter"

I prefer Autumn myself, but I love seeing the delicate snow. :)

I always dread to see winter come because summer seems so free to me (with vacations and all). But there is something neat about winter. Winter seems like such a nice time to work on special intense interests projects like building model roller coasters, etc. And the holiday season is so magical. I often celebrate Christmas in a big way. In the past I have put up 35 Christmas trees in the house---most full size.
