Possible spectrum disorder I have been dealing with?
As a child I was always strange, but my parents just thought I was a little "Jim Carey." I was signed up for baseball, but, somehow I always ended up in the field with my glove over my face rocking side to side. Also I used to spin in circles everyday when I was six years old, it ended when I was around eleven years of age. Back to the baseball topic, I do not recall talking to any of my teammates, in fact I never did. When it was time for basketball to start up I was about eleven, I only talked to one kid who was identified as, "The Weird Kid." When soccer came I didn't even try to converse, basically I waited for them to talk to me.
Now lets discuss school, and yes I was given an IEP. So, when school was in session I never listened and was preoccupied with the smallest of things. I was considered the naughty kid. Mainly because I did my own thing and hated listening to others.
I was put into social skills around the 4th grade. I attended it for two years three days a week. It did really help me because I used began using manors, maintaining a better eye contact then before, and handling anger.
When high school started I began falling into a fashion scene, never thought for myself, just went along with the status quo. I did talk to people and showed a good amount of social skills. As I began to get betrayed, lied to, and made fun of. It was clear that I was not fit for my clothes, meaning that I was clearly not the person I looked to be. So, that being, I changed near the end of grade eleven, and began a familiar style of life that I used to lead. I started to understand that I had to be myself, the only problem was that the real me had some problems that I struggled to hide for far to long.
My current symptoms:
1) I hate long conversations and will end them quickly.
2) I don’t talk much at school, I really only open up to my family and 3 friends. Two of which have an autism spectrum disorder.
3) Finger fidgeting like twisting, curling fingers with one hand while walking.
4) I walk rather strangely.
5) Answers are short and quick to most people.
6) I try to make eye contact but can’t sustain it for to long.
7) I don’t listen to other people, and will not remember any problem they tell me.
I can be very childish and hyper sometimes.
9) I struggle to make my voice higher due to my mono-toned voice.
Early Childhood symptoms:
I learned to conquer these through a social skills program:
1) Spinning in circles
2) Constantly spinning things
3) Didn’t respond to my name after it was called 4 times by my daddy. (Baby years)
4) Interrupting people
5) Temper Tantrums
6) Sharing proved very difficult
When I was turning nine, I remember wandering off from my friends at my own party, it was like I didn’t want to be with them.
Yep, sounds like you could be on the spectrum. My guess is Asperger's.
Just curious: did you have any special interests?
You said you were on an IEP - were you diagnosed with anything? I wasn't aware that you could go on it without a diagnoses. Of course in my day there was no such thing as an IEP, just remedial classes.
P.S we all have that smiley problem when listing '8'.

My dad played major league ball for the Seattle Mariners. I liked to pick flowers in the outfield.
Welcome to the spectrum...

Well, I was obsessed with lord of the rings and spider all throughout elementry school. Now a days my intrests consist of Biology, Chemistry, and Astronomy. I must say they are quite strong interests.
The deal with my IEP is unkown to me. I think my mom is hiding something from me, and im struggling to find out why i have it.
