I'm sure this has been discussed several times now, but I was wondering something fairly specific--is it common for sensory problems to be intermittent?

I'm usually hyper-sensitive to sounds and smells, and hypo-sensitive to touch (with an exception for food textures and temperatures). When I woke up this morning, however, I felt like I was extra sensitive to EVERYTHING. I'm kind of afraid to eat my breakfast in case the taste is too much for me....

I just want to know if this is normal. It doesn't happen to me very often, bit when it does, it can absolutely ruin my day.

It probably is. Depending on your stress levels and how obnoxious the sensory issue is, you might be more affected than usual. Don't know really, I know I have good days and bad days when it comes to sensory, but usually if it's a bad day, I'm also close to a meltdown/shutdown. So dunno.

Sorry that you're having one of those days tho, they suck. :(

I don't really have good days and bad days with sensory. My senses stay the same every day (unless I'm not feeling very well, but that's to be expected in anyone). I only have sensory issues with hearing. Otherwise, I'm pretty average with my smell, taste, and sight.

I definitely have good and bad days, I have not been able to discover what causes it either way yet.
