I have very strong emotional reactions to things. Sometimes my reactions are overwhelming both physically and mentally. And I have a hard time recovering equilibrium. In the past I have acted on my emotions to my regret. I am better at not doing so now, but I am still left disoriented and exhausted sometimes.

So are your reactions sometimes emotionally intense? And what strategies do you use to recover?

Yes. Things that would cause annoyance at most in most people, can cause me to have a meltdown. I don't do a very good job of trying to suppress my meltdowns; I just let them happen and take some time to calm down and forget what happened.

Yeah...I guess while my emotional reaction is out of my control, I can still take steps to calm myself down when it happens. Mitigate the damage. It's just such an ordeal ... physically as much as anything.
