I'm scared to ever go on a plane again because I don't like to be touched and don't want to be searched.

I haven't been on a plane since before 911 so things are very different now.

I can't say for you wants too much, I can only speak for myself.
I find busy airport difficult but I can deal with some prep. Sun glasses,
an Mp3 player with meditation type music, this stuff is great if you can't
find silent. sometimes shades and calm music are as close as you can get.
snacks that aren't too sugary, and a drink to get you hydrated and your blood sugar
up and even. Both factors that add to meltdowns. as well as that I recommend had lots
of stuff to watch on a laptop or smart phone, anything that makes you feel more at
home and comfortable helps. You might want to read but I can find that a little taxing.

Personally I try to keep shades, meditation music and a granola bar handy in case I feel
a meltdown coming. Havn't had a complete one in over a year.

I'm not at the airport at Christmas time (I'm not deranged) and would do anything I possibly could to avoid travelling at that part of the year, so it's a non-issue for me.

I'd rather undergo another root canal without anesthesia.

I actually really enjoy airports once I am through security. There is always that brief moment going through security where I am terrified that they are going to stop me and ask me a bunch of questions and search me. Then I would melt down.. or just go home. Once I am through security I curl up in a nice corner on the floor of a terminal somewhere with my starbucks and a book. That said, I fly very often, so I have gotten used to airports. I do not like it when the airport is loud though. Usually I can avoid that by finding a quiet spot with little motion. I also love to watch people so a spend part of my time observing the people walking around. It can be ok if you plan for it, prepare yourself for it, find a quiet place to wait (be creative) and bring a few things you know you like to do. I never sit where someone could sit next to me. I think people in the airport see me and think I'm a little weird, but thats ok. Hope it goes ok for you

I like the airport, just not the waiting.

I've never been to the airport around Christmas time but I'd probably be alright. I would bring my smartphone and i pod and hope the batteries won't run down.

I would never go to a airport at that time of year becuase you could end up stuck there.

Airports are a fairly dependably source of anxiety for me, regardless of the time of year. The 'Holidays' can be especially challenging and it is at these times when airports can also be seen in all their hideous glory, for what they really are - cattle processing facilities.

I carry an Autism Alert card with me when when I have to travel by air, along with silicon ear plugs and a menthol inhaler (protection from passenger 'hygiene')
