I think I might have OCD. The problem is that I don't have the C part. Any tips, people? PLEASE! I need to learn how to cope with these horrid thoughts!

I can fully understand that certain thoughts make you feel guilty and ashamed of yourself, but there just thoughts. Nothing more than that. Does distraction help to keep those thoughts away?

I too have OCD that (untreated) has gotten worse over time. A couple of professionals have told me before that OCD responds very well to treatment. Therapy and medication. If you are really struggling, as it sounds you are, maybe you should get some help. It can really become a debilitating condition and does nothing positive for you self-esteem. I've been told also that although it is very common for people with AS to have OCD, it does not have to be the case. For me, I know that it was not always a part of my life, so I know that it is not intrinsically intertwined with my AS, so is treatable.

Goodluck TeeHee. Take it easy on yourself, it really is an awful beast.

By the way, you don't have to have the C part to get help. For me too the C part is much less than the O part. It can sometimes be difficult too to distinguish which category your issues fall into (there is a lot of overlap). You don't really have to be affected by both, it is of more importance that any part of it is causing distress or affecting the quality of you life.
