Well, I just finished watching and it was awesome! He was blind, autistic and an absolutely amazing pianist. :)

Out here "Channel 5" is PBS. In other cities it may be something else. Do you mean PBS?

I enjoyed the programme; it wasn't overhyped or exaggerated like Channel 5 often tends to do.

Amazing musical talent also :o

I hope they show a rerun of it soon. It sounds like it must have been brilliant! :)

I wish I'd known about it sooner - I would have posted here to tell everyone! But I only found out 10min before  We could all email Ch5 letting them know we'd like to see it again I suppose!

Actually, that might work. :) Provided it was successful enough in its first showing, airing it again could be beneficial to them as well as us. So yeah, maybe those of us who want to see it again should email them, requesting it to be shown again. We have a much better chance of it succeeding if we do try, than if we don't. :)

I so want to hear recordings of autistic people's music... I like music very much; and I'm greatly interested in what sort of thing an autistic mind would create, what sort of style they would have when playing others' creations... I'm only an Aspie, and not a music savant; but I can hear patterns in music just as well as any music student can. But maybe I would be disappointed, since Auties are all different, and their own styles would overshadow whatever tendencies the autism would give their music.

Hmm... Are there autistic people out there recording music commercially? With all the talent out there, there's got to be somebody...

When I was studying music production in college, I often had to create MIDI-based songs for my assignments. I'll try and find one, if you'd like to hear it. :) I'm afraid none of them are that great, but at least they're not that bad either (I hope :P ).

I'm thinking of getting a Harmonica, and I've got a microphone that works right in front of me. So maybe I'll come up with something and send it to ya someday!

Oh, if you happen to be able to tune into NZ television, switch to channel 1, there's a program on right now called Little Angels (about bad children getting taugh how to behave, like Supernanny), and it's the season finale. The person who helps out the kids is gonna have a rough ride, as the naughty kid has AS!

The program ends at either 8:30pm or 9:00pm NZ time (it's 8:09pm right now when I've posted this). Hurry hurry hurry, or else you'll miss it! I'm not watching, though...

Hello Callista,

There is a band called The Vines, the guitarist/vocalist Craig Nichols has been diagnosed Asperger. He compose music and lyrics and did almost everything in the studio even the cover of the album.

The style is alternative/pop/rock, on 2 songs his vocal is a bit similar to John Lennon, but the rest is different.

Band: The Vines
Album: Highly Evolved

One night he was suppose to play at Jay Leno, during the reahersal he freaked out and start yelling and smashing equipments. It's after that that he was diagnosed.
