Such as chores. I know, I know a list write stuff down etc. But I don't I'd never remember to go back and look at the list so I talk out loud. Dishes/sweeping/mopping/laundry. After each task I ask "Ok what was I going to do?" I pause turn around in a circle am confused for a minute then "Oh ya Sweeping/mopping/laundry. Can anyone relate to this issue? and does it have a professional name? Thank You WP.

Often, yes. A few things are sort of "automatic", but every now and then I even have to remind myself of the next step in my routine for getting ready for work, usually when I'm particularly tired.

I think that's related to issues with executive functioning. In order to deal with that, I am going to try and schedule/plan more of the things I need to do daily, in written format, on a calendar...that may help. :)

On really bad days I have to talk myself through basic things like taking a shower and making coffee.

Lol everyone else thinks I'm crazy when I explain that I don't write lists because I'd never remember to go back and look at it.

Yes, I have to talk myself through pretty much everything I do. "Okay I'm going to do this...and now I need this, this and this, and then I need to get this thing from the other room, uh what else was I going to do?" If I'm alone I do it out loud. In public it drives me crazy if other people try to talk to me while I'm trying to do this in my head.

i go through something similar, everything i do has a process that i go through in my head a lot, so it may take me from ten minutes to 3 years to finally do something.

Yes. I have to do verbally list out stuff as well, saying out loud what I am doing next or something that is tangential to what I'm doing next.
