I am and it's my first time. I'm excited, but a bit scared.

Wow, I wish I could. Don't think I can afford it. We need something like this here in the States.

I am and it's my sixth time.
You are going to enjoy it very much.
If you are going ahead with your road trip to the Continent this summer, than I would be glad to hear about that.

I am surprised you don't know much about Autreat, because Autreat is discussed here on WrongPlanet quite often.
Here goes:
Autreat 2011's Call for Proposals: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt155197.html
Autreat's website: http://www.autreat.com/
Autreat's information mailing list: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/autreatinfo/
Autreat information page: http://www.autreat.com/autreat.html
Some of the workshops which were given at Autreat in the past: http://www.autreat.com/past-workshops.htm

By the way, Kerry, since you like aspie travel writing, you may like this:
http://www.bearsac.com/book.htm

I am yet to read it myself, but I probably will.
I remember trying to bring Debra & Bearsac to Autscape 2010, but failing to.
Perhaps they would care to come to Autscape this year?

Yeah, I've seen a documentary before about Debra and bearsac. To be honest I didn't really 'get it'. I found it a bit disturbing. I didn't know she'd written a book though, think I'll have to order it :) might help me understand her more.

To those who are not going to Autscape 2011 (or to Autreat 2011) -

What would make you want to attend Autscape 2012 (or Autreat 2012)?

* A different venue? (if so, different in what manners?)
* A larger event? (if so, how large?)
* Different subjects of presentations? (if so, what subjects?)
* More/different leisure sessions? (if so, how many? what kinds?)
* Any additional activities? (if so, what kinds of activities?)
* Other things? (if so, what things?)

It's not you; it's me. :-(

The thought of traveling to a big social event full of strangers scares me. I know that not all people with ASD's are like that, but I am.

I think you're doing a great job keeping people informed of these events.

Thank you. I am doing my best.
Yet, my threads about these events receive very few replies, unlike threads about marginal subjects, which receive loads of replies.
It is a mystery I am yet to solve.

You see what I mean?
I asked the entire WrongPlanet membership if they are going to Autscape this year.
Kerry immediately said she does.
AardvarkGoodSwimmer said he wished he could, and expressed interest in Autreat (the American autistic gathering).
SyphonFilter said he can't afford it.
Nobody else replied...

So... Out of over 50,000 WrongPlanet members, only 3 cared to answer my question.
I then posted a few questions to make us understand why most WP members don't care about Autscape/Autreat.
J0sh was kind enough to explain why he can't go.
Nobody else replied...

What am I to think? That posting about Autscape/Autreat here on WrongPlanet is as silly as posting about Autscape/Autreat on some NT forum?
It does seem like that, and it is a great mystery to me.

The link on the picture doesn't work.

I don't think I could afford to go, I'm terrified of strangers (although, in a conference setting I seem to fair okay) but my mother wouldn't allow me to go.

Still, I wouldn't mind reading more about it.
