I feel that I have a tendacy to post way to much in the posts I make, expecially when I'm starting a thread. I feel I either get off topic and go off on a tangent, spew out too much personal information that no one cares about, detail an unneeded personal acedote, describe things too much, or just generally ramble on for far too long until I create a text wall or two. When I'm writing it it doesn't look or feel long, and I know it wouldn't actually take much time to read, but it looks very long once I post it, and I don't believe that under normal conditions I'd actually bother to read most of the things I write as they simply look too long. :(. I'm wondering if other people feel I do this or feel that they do this themselves, and if this is related to Autism. A lack in ToM could result in not realizing that others wouldn't be interested in reading everything I write, or deprivation from social venting could lead me to try to release as much as I can here as I don't feel comfortable talking about certain things other places, but I still have the desire to communicate them and the need to release them, or something. Anyone's thoughts?

What you did write now, it's not too long, is it?
In school, when we had to write about a certain topic and I felt "really into it", I could easily write like 10-18 Din-A -4-pages about it. I usually got it back from being checked with a lot crossed out in red: unnecessary information, too much detail, missed the main point. :(
So I am also scared to write too much what results in writing very short.

It's still somewhat long, and I didn't through in any anecdotes this time. I actually using have more of a problem with being too short while writing essays I don't care much for, but that isn't much of a problem as I'm still very thorough, and I just need to through in a bit of junk to make it look longer, and ramble on about some minor point in order to create another paragraph, than I have an A-essay. I do have the tendacy to ramble along needlessly long when writing about a topic I'm actually interested in for an essay. I've been told I'm actually a pretty good essay writer, and I guess it's just because I create a few concrete points, and than I use my natural rambling skills to actually put out useful information to fill out a paragraph for each point instead of writing pure BS or pouring out my heart like I'm doing here.

You say it youself: You are pouring out your heart. It is necessary, if there is a big need to do it, if people usually don't understand you. You maybe write a lot, because you want people this time to really understand you. And in order to understand yourself.
And I guess it's okay!

Thank you. I guess you are right, since coming here I've been starting to understand myself a lot better, and letting it out does make it clearer, though its somewhat discouraging when some of the stuff you write appears to get completely ignored, expecially when you spent time writing it.

Hey,
Your not the only one. I usually feel like i havent written enough. I look at my posts and re-edit them all the time before i like them. heck i may even re-edit this one after i post it =)
I also do it in person. I write the way I think so, obviously if i yabber too much in person i end up yabbering too much in my text.
But i love talking. Though on the forum i feel liek no one is really going to care what i post cause no one ever replies, so i try to keep my posts to a minimum leangth.
