Taken?

Okay.. So my mom got married last night and I realized I am very awkward in general but especially when getting my picture taken. My mouth just turns into a straight line. I went to a water park with my fiance and his two sisters this summer and we got our picture taken and everyone was smiling except me. My mouth looks like a cartoon character or something. It is pretty embarrassing but I just don't feel comfortable with my picture being taken unless I am taking the picture myself and usually it takes me a very long time to get a decent picture.

Can anyone relate?

I look horrible in the majority of the pictures I'm in, though I look good in a few.

Very much. On my wedding day everyone kept saying "smile" and "be natural" and I was smiling as much as I could. They just kept saying "smile naturally" and I kept saying "I am smiling naturally." That was so awkward. It all felt so wrong.

Yes, what feels like a big grin to me is actually barely a half smile.

Ha. yes, I can't smile in photos. Oh I can laugh my head off when someone tells a joke but for some reason when someone yells 'smile' and sticks a camera in my face I freeze. God forbid I should get married, my wedding album will be filled with photoes of me looking like I'm passing a kidney stone.

I never smile in my photos, because I look horrible that way. Could you imagine this mess of a human face actually smiling?

I chipped a front tooth in first grade and because of this and my front teeth sticking out a little I won't pose for pictures with a smile with teeth showing. I hate getting my picture taken.

I've had that problem ever since I was little. Although I've gotten better as an adult, I still can't stand getting my picture taken. It makes me feel so vulnerable and exposed.

When I was young, my grandmother would take my picture and she was always like, "Smile!...No, smile naturally!....Natural!". All the while trying my best to "smile naturally" but apparently not succeeding.

Yeah you are! And that's not too bad, because you don't look unhappy there, content is what I first thought.

I look completely different when I'm smiling. It's too awkward to describe. My upper lip gets smaller, and my bottom lip gets really stretched out. I look decent when my face is neutral, like it is in this photo.

I hate getting my picture taken. My face contorts itself into something nonhuman when the lens is focused on me. xD
