Yes, that's exactly what I'm asking for, as there are no stickies related to this in THIS forum. Or one of the other FAQs could be made into an announcement so it appears on all forums.
Ah, Ok.
IIRC that topic did start off in General Autism Discussion but because it isn't entirely serious, ended up in Random Discussion instead - so to create some sort of an announcement for it in General Autism Discussion effectively links it back to what isn't really the best home for it.
Nevertheless it
is a sticky, and is easily found by glancing at the top of the forum index page.
Also the examples Burnbridge gave and as jackbus01 mentioned, earlier - some questions do seem to appear every week and more to the point, they are also often
answered every week - so perhaps the "search" function on the top right of the screen would provide an immediate and detailed answer to many of these queries.
As an aside, it's something of a problem with many forums - if a user hasn't thought to use the search function then they're quite likely to not read the FAQ either and so, inevitably, the same questions are
still asked time and again. For example, the link I gave to the list of tests: it's a sticky at the top of this forum.
You can probably appreciate that FAQ entries covering topics like "Should I get a diagnosis", "What is ToM" and "Do Aspies have empathy" are more suitable for discussion than a FAQ because the answers are not straightforward - which is possibly why there isn't one dealing with them - but if you're able to compile a FAQ which provides concise answers to these questions, maybe linking to relevant and helpful WP threads but hopefully not just being a list of links, then we'll see how it goes from there.
It might be easier to view it as a dictionary of common terms/acronyms rather than a FAQ? Just a thought.
