This is a hypothetical question, what would be the outcome if the government ran a TV campaign for undiagnosed Asperger adults.

Example do you find eye contact difficult during conversation,do you feel severely awkward in social situations e.t.c.

How many potential AS people do you think would contact the government, this is of course they had got through young adulthood.

There must be alot of people over the age of 30 with AS and not knowing they are, unless they see a magazine article,TV programme, radio programme, they are not going to know.

I think it would be in the millions. I only found out about it after my son began having problems and was Dx's otherwise I probably never heard of it and just continued to think I was weird. I can think of several others in my own family who I believe have it. I think it's more commen than anyone would expect.

Here's my idea for that type of ad:

"There are 2 average Americans: the low-class-oblivious-drunk-friendly-boring kind and the high-class-evil-drunk-friendly-boring kind. If neither describes you, please consult your psychiatrist to see if you have Aspergers Syndrome. Thanks for your support, for average is overrated these days."

I"m imagining the commercial opening with a scene of a kid getting beat up in school while the teacher looks the other way, then cut to a scene years later where the same guy is arriving at work and sees a pile of dog s**t on his desk while his boss and fellow workers are trying hard not to laugh.

The scene freezes, and we see the words:

Asperger's
It's a special gift.
Treasure your uniqueness.
