Anyone twirl their hair as a stim? I twirl my hair, either between my fingers in large chunks or in small strands under my nails and I always do it in the same order between my fingers. I've done this my whole life and I even used to twirl others' hair when I was little. Is this considered a stim?

I twirled my hair a lot in my late teens when I had it longer.

I did it when I was a kid and some kids had asked me about it. I used to chew on my hair too until I got obsessed about being clean so I stopped and I haven't done it since. Now I twirl it off and on when my hair bugs me, my hair bothered me as a kid because it get in my face so I twirled it. Now my hair is long again and I am twirling it again.

I've actually let my hair grow long again and find I do that a lot now. I'm so into finger stimming…

I miss my little rat tail. :( It only existed for the twirling, and I did it constantly. Got rid of it when I moved to rural Nebraska, trying to blend in. I forgot how nice that was, I should grow it back now that I'm urban again.

My aspie boyfriend has waist-length hair and is forever twirling it or lacing it between his fingers. He seems to do it more when he is nervous from what I can tell.

I don't play with my hair that much since I'm kind of paranoid about getting it dirty. I find my boyfriend's hair stimming to be sort of endearing though.

My younger brother did that a lot in his youth.

I used to chew and twirl my hair when I was little, till my mom cut it short.

Now that it's long again (and I thankfully don't chew it anymore), I constantly run my hands trough every part of it looking for even the smallest of knots to break up.

Wow...wow...wow....another revelation. I twirled my hair for years, often laying in bed, or sometimes not realizing it. Hadn't known it could be another one of those AS stims. Well, whether or not it was with me, I'd probably still be engaging in such activity even now, if I had enough hair left to do it with. Thinned out considerably in the last 10 years or so.
Thanks for providing the latest "oh yeah that's me too" installment to the growing list!

I used to twirl my hair all the time, and sometimes chew on it. I don't recall when or why I stopped, however.

I still twirl it, but not nearly as much, and I never chew on it anymore.

I sometimes do this with my eyebrows.

I've been trying to stop because it usually leads to pulled hairs, with swollen red marks.

When I was little I played with and chewed my hair constantly. Then I went through a phase of pulling it out.
