Just wondering if wonky sleep patterns are a common theme here.
In addition to being on the wrong planet, I've often wondered if I'm not in the wrong time zone as well.
As far back as I can remember I've been a night owl.
At one point, I had the chance to let my body's natural rhythm assert itself and found myself waking at 3pm on the dot, and in bed by 7am with no sleep aids, nothing.
Anyone else like this or...

We had an entire thread on this. It's a very "aspie" sleep pattern.

I loved doing that.

My usual patter turned into waking at midday, and crashing out, usually stoned as a parrot at 2:30-3:30am.

Now I have a b***h of a job that requires me to get up at 6:30 in the morning, and be in bed by 10:30 pm - where I am, that was 10 mins ago. I hate it.

Not only does it feel decidedly unnatural, and also, as if I'm wasting time sleeping through the 11pm-3am zone (which is when I feel most alive), it's actually making me pysically sick. I'm nauseous, have cold-like symptoms (which could, I suppose be a cold, but strangely they dissappear if I stay up late) and a general depression settling in with cold fronts from the east.

(Which is where my alarm clock lives, relative to the computer).

Anyway. I'm off to bed. And I WON'T enjoy it. On principal. So there. Meh.

Yep, I'm a night owl.

The problem is that it's SOOOO tempting to stay up late, because I'm wide awake, but then I pay for it next morning at 06:45 when the alarm goes off

I heard a theory once that sleep goes in 4 hour patterns. Therefore, if you can't get 8 hours sleep, you may as well stay up longer and settle for 4, because having 5 - 7 hours will probably make you feel worse in the morning rather than better.

I think there might be some truth in this.

Yeah totalily crazy sleeping pattern here to.

I also prefer to be awake as many night hours as possible. I feel more relaxed and less bored. I feel more at ease going out at night with fewwer humans out there.

I get to sleep about 1 am or after, every night. I have to get up for work at seven.
I am finding it more and more difficult to get up in the mornings since the winter has set in, I seem to be going into hibernation mode or something :?

You can do a search on sleep on this site and find a lot of people who can relate.I have always been a night owl....very inconventient when your a kid with a bed time and an insane school hours. In college I took night classes and barely passed the early morning classes I had no choice about.I have worked an over night shift for the past 14 years(about)and it workes better but limits the type of work I can do.
My preferred hours would go to bed between 3am-6am and get up 8-10 hours later...

Definately a night person. Luckily I start work at 3:45 and finish at quarter after midnight... If I'm in bed at sunrise, it's normal for me.

Totally unpredictable sleep pattern here...

Techincally I can get to where I'm sleeping at the same time every day; but one day out of schedule, and everything's out of whack, and it gets totally unpredictable again.

So I'm resorting to a combination of sleeping pills and caffeine. It's not the best, but maybe it'll keep me from missing more work because I couldn't sleep till 6 a.m. AGAIN.

My NT housemate doesn't understand why I can't just go to bed at midnight and go to sleep like she does... because "all it takes is discipline"...

Yeah. Discipline = Tossing and turning for six hours, then being tired all day. Doesn't work for me, missy.

Wake up at 9:00 pm go to sleep at 5:00 am.

I'm awake at night, asleep in the day, and I love the taste of blood. Do you think it's all related?

Ever since I can remember I've been up all night, my average sleeping time is say 6 am till about 1 pm... To me its always this feeling that I'll be wasting time if I sleep any earlier, I try to get to bed but it just doesn't work, the thoughts race.

I like to stay up latw, and sleep late.

I know, it's a common thing for people with AS to do.

I've often wondered whether or not I should switch my sleep patterns around to become nocturnal just for the sake of it. I wake up at around midday on a non-school day!
