Absolutely, especially with spoken (or attempted spoken) words as opposed to written.

Yes. Sometimes, also, I succeed to find a word in English, but can't translate it or find an equivalent in French (my first language). I make it a sticking point not to use anglicism, so I'm still stuck.

It's not so much a problem of finding the actual word for me, It's stringing them together into a coherent sentence.

Then if I'm caught by surprise, and someone "puts me on the spot", I go completely blank.

Alot of the time yes, I'm fortunate to have a very intelligent husband who can pluck the right word out of his mind, I'll ask him what word it is to describe XYZ and he'll think of the right one, he's a walking dictionary / thesaurus

All the time when its something highly emotional and really upsetting to me I start to lose the ability to coherently think of thing and string together thoughts.

All of the above. I am or used to be a walking dictionary/thesaurus. Losing speech has gotten worse for some reason.

Yep, its rather common for me to have that at various degrees. I have to translate my thoughts into words and that takes effort.

Yep, all the time. But, when I'm typing, not so much. At least I have more time to find it and a thesaurus to hand.

Yes; very frustrating. The words all jumble up in my head and I can't express my concept in a coherent way. People get frustrated with me and will finish the end of my sentence. I wish they would give me more time, because eventually I can sort the words out to say them, but people won't usually wait.

I've heard a lot of people here say that they have difficulty putting their thoughts into words when they're emotional, but it's a problem for me no matter how I feel. I often feel like what I say is only about 20% of what I mean to (sometimes it's more like 0% since I say the wrong thing entirely), and it frustrates me and pisses me off every single day. I can usually express myself better in writing, but lately I've found that my ability to do even that is slipping. I often spend an hour trying to type a short post here on these forums and I get angry and just delete it and don't post at all.
