I don't hiccup often, only sometimes after a big meal, followed by a burp.
But when I do suddenly find myself with the hiccups, I have to get rid of them immediately because I can't stand them. When you have the hiccups, you hiccup without warning, and that makes me jump each time, like a sudden loud noise does. So I have to get rid of them by either taking a deep breath or drinking down a glass of water.

So can hiccups interfere with sensory issues? They do me. Does anyone else find hiccups completely unbearable?

I find them very uncomfortable and annoying. Unbearable, no.

I have always loved hiccups, but I get them so rarely.
What does that mean?
